NOP (USDA) - exporting organic products to the USA
The USA is the largest market for organic products in the world. Thanks to the equivalence arrangement between the EU and the USA, your products certified under Regulation (EU) 2018/848 by Balkan Biocert can be sold in the USA as organic without separate certification under the US standard. We issue the required certificate for each shipment.

What is NOP?
The National Organic Program of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). It determines which product may be sold as "organic" in the USA and bear the USDA Organic logo.
How is this possible without separate certification?
The EU and the USA mutually recognise each other's organic production systems. The certificate under the EU Regulation is sufficient, provided a few additional conditions are met.
What we issue
An import certificate under NOP (NOP Import Certificate). It has been mandatory for every shipment of organic products to the USA since 19 March 2024 and is issued electronically in the USDA database.
Main conditions
The product is produced or finally processed/packaged in the EU; products from animals treated with antibiotics cannot be sold as organic in the USA; the label complies with US rules.
Suitable for
Herbs, spices, essential oils (rose, lavender and others), as well as plant, processed and bee products.
How we work
You send us the shipment details, we check the documents and traceability and issue the certificate. Your buyer in the USA uses it for customs clearance.
