Balkan Biocert Ltd. is the first national accredited body for control and certification of organic products in Bulgaria, with over 23 years of experience. We provide professional certification services for crop and livestock farms, apiaries, processing enterprises, storage sites and trade in organic products intended both for the domestic market and for export. We offer our services in the territories of Bulgaria and North Macedonia.

History

Balkan Biocert was founded and started organic certification activities in 2003 as part of a Bulgarian-Swiss project funded by SECO, Switzerland, under the expert leadership and professional guidance of IMO Switzerland on the certification process. The project started earlier - in 2001, when the foundations of Bulgarian organic production were being laid, and colleagues of ours who are still with the company today took part in it. But the company was founded in 2003.

2003 - 2005 is the period in which the entire process of physical audit and preparation of documentation was carried out by Balkan Biocert, while certification decisions were taken by IMO. After obtaining its own accreditation in 2005, the entire process has been carried out by Balkan Biocert. Without interruption of the accreditation to date.

Since 2005 Balkan Biocert has also had its own office in Skopje, North Macedonia.
